Overview

Orange Minerals Mulga Rock project consists of five granted tenements covering approximately 675km2, located in the Great Victoria Desert, 290km by road ENE of Kalgoorlie, WA. A further 557km2 is under application and is expected to be granted in the first half of 2025. The project tenements are adjacent to Deep Yellow's Mulga Rock West and East uranium deposits that have gazetted resources of 33.9Mt @ 450ppm U3O8 and 81.2Mt @ 400ppm U3O8 respectively.

The Mulga Rock project is a series of paleo channel uranium deposits located within a regionally extensive paleo drainage system. Mineralogy is diverse with a number of critical minerals being present in addition to uranium. The main uranium accumulation within each deposit occurs as a sub-horizontal body found mainly in carbonaceous sediments of lignite and clays. Uranium and base metals were transported laterally from source materials by acid rich meteoric flow, with metals deposited in favourable host rocks close to the water table. At Mulga Rocks mineralisation typically commences at shallow depths of 30-60m.

Geological Setting

The Mulga Rock uranium deposits are hosted by organic rich muddy sediments within an Eocene buried paleochannel cut into sediments of the Officer Basin. The uranium mineralisation in each of the deposits is found immediately below the redox front at the base of weathering, at a depth to top varying from 30 to 60m below surface. The bulk of the ore is as fine disseminations, too fine to discern, disseminated through the organic sediments, held by adsorption on the organic matter as urano-organic complexes.
