Overview
The Majestic project is a package of 33 tenements covering an area of 58km2 in the Eastern Goldfields, centred approximately 50km SE of Kalgoorlie, WA. There has been a long history of gold exploration and mining in tenements surrounding the project area, however comprehensive drilling and significant mining activities have not taken place within the tenements.
There is recorded evidence of small historical workings on some of the tenements. Significant mining and gold production has occurred in adjacent tenements in the area, most notably from Mt Monger and the Majestic – Imperial mines.
Geological Setting
The Majestic tenements cover parts of the central and southwestern Juglah Dome and extends westward over the Glandore mafic succession and the eastern part of the ultramafic Bulong Complex. The Glandore mafic succession and the Bulong Complex are part of the 2700Ma Kalgoorlie greenstones that have been thrust over younger felsic volcanic rocks of the Juglah Dome. The Majestic Fault is the primary thrust contact between the Glandore mafic succession and the underlying Juglah Dome, and numerous gold projects align along this significant structure. The Majestic Fault traverses through many of the project tenements.
